The requirement

A fuel dispenser display is read from a distance, through sunlight or night lighting, by a customer who wants to see three numbers: volume, unit price and total. It also has to survive weather and constant use.

What we supplied

  • Large digit fields for volume, price and total, with a wide viewing angle
  • High-brightness backlight sized for forecourt lighting conditions
  • Wide temperature range and UV-resistant polarizer
  • Connector and pinout matched to the dispenser controller

Design note

For forecourt equipment, agree the brightness against the worst case — low sun behind the customer at dusk — rather than the average. It changes the backlight specification, not the glass.
