Case study
Display for a Solar Inverter
Operating state, output power and fault codes on equipment that runs outdoors for years without being switched off.

The requirement
An inverter runs continuously, often mounted outdoors or in an unheated plant room. The installer reads it during commissioning; the owner reads it only when something is wrong — which makes fault codes the most important field on the display.
What we supplied
- Segment layout with state, power and dedicated fault-code fields
- Wide temperature range and UV-resistant polarizer for outdoor mounting
- Transflective structure with a low-current backlight
- Pinout fixed to the inverter controller
Why not a colour screen
Inverters need decades of service from a sealed enclosure. A segment display has no graphics stack to fail, no backlight to dim prematurely, and it stays readable in direct sunlight.
