The requirement
An illuminated panel has to look even from every angle, with no visible LED hotspots and no colour drift between batches.
What we supplied
- SMD LED array with the pitch calculated for the panel size
- Light guide with optical dots patterned for even brightness
- Definition of the target uniformity and colour temperature before sampling
- Connector and drive current specified for the customer board
What to specify
Panel size, thickness available behind it, target brightness, colour temperature and the drive current you can supply. Those five numbers decide the design — and they are much cheaper to agree before tooling.
