Light Guide Plate for an Even Backlight
A light guide with the optical pattern designed for uniform brightness — no visible LED hot spots at any edge.
The requirement
The panel had to look evenly lit with the LEDs placed along one edge, and no visible bright spots near the light source. The customer also wanted a defined colour temperature across batches.
What we supplied
- Light guide with an optical dot pattern calculated for the panel size and LED pitch
- Reflector and diffuser stack specified to reach the target uniformity
- Colour temperature fixed with the LED supplier, and verified on samples
- Dimensional control on the guide so it drops into the existing bezel
What to specify
Panel size, available thickness, target brightness, colour temperature and the drive current you can supply. Those five numbers decide the design, and they are far cheaper to agree before tooling than after.
