Case study
LCD for an Intelligent Motor Protector
Current, voltage and fault codes on a panel-mounted protector where the reading has to be unambiguous under fault conditions.

The requirement
A motor protector is read when something has already gone wrong, so the display has to show the fault code clearly and hold it. Panel mounting also limits the depth available behind the front plate.
What we supplied
- Segment layout with three parameter rows and a dedicated fault-code field
- Negative mode with a bright backlight for control cabinets
- Wide temperature range for an industrial enclosure
- Pin connector with the pinout fixed to the existing board
Why segment LCD
Fault codes and three parameters are a fixed set. Segment displays give the contrast and the long-term stability that a small graphic module only reaches at a higher cost and with more firmware.
