The requirement

A breathalyser has to guide the user through a sequence — warm-up, blow, wait, result — and then present a number that may have legal consequences. The display carries that whole sequence.

What we supplied

  • Segment layout with a large result field plus unit and status indicators
  • Countdown and progress indication so the user knows when to blow
  • Non-numeric pass / caution / fail indication that does not depend on reading the digits
  • Low-current backlight for roadside use

Design note

For safety and legal instruments, agree the failure indication before tooling — colour, icon and segment set. It is the part users and inspectors remember.
