The requirement
Three-phase meters are read in distribution cabinets, often with poor lighting, and the reading has to be unambiguous: which phase, which unit, decimal point in the right place.

Validation
Batch consistency matters more than peak performance here: meters are installed in large numbers and every unit has to read the same. Outgoing inspection is 100% with electrical parameters verified per batch.
