Rotary Knob Displays

A knob with the display built in — used where the control and the readout have to be the same object the user turns.

Control and readout in one part

On cookers, treadmills and appliance panels, a knob plus a separate window means two openings, two assemblies and a fixed viewing angle. Putting the display inside the knob removes the window and lets the user read the value while turning.

What we supply

  • Segment or dot-matrix display integrated into the knob assembly
  • Outline matched to your knob diameter, with the display upright across the rotation
  • Choice of rotary encoding or a fixed-position design depending on your control scheme
  • Backlight options, including colour to indicate mode

Mechanical considerations

The two decisions that matter are how the display connects through a rotating assembly and how much mechanical load the knob will see. Both are settled at drawing review, before tooling.

Frequently asked questions

The questions buyers ask most before starting a display project. Anything missing? Ask us directly — we answer the same day.

Can you produce a display from a drawing or from a sample?

Yes. Send a DXF, DWG or PDF drawing, or a photo of the display you are replacing together with its dimensions. If you have no drawing at all, we can work from a sketch plus the housing dimensions, and confirm the layout before tooling starts.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Typically 1,000 pcs per model for production orders. For a first project we can supply a smaller validation batch so you can test the display in your product before committing to volume — ask for it in your inquiry.

How long do samples take?

Segment panels normally take 7–10 working days after the drawing is confirmed. Module and backlight projects take longer, usually 10–15 working days, because assembly and light-guide tooling are involved.

What does tooling cost?

Tooling depends on the outline size, the number of segments and the connector, so it is quoted case by case together with the unit price. It is a one-off charge, not a per-unit cost, and the tooling belongs to your project.

Which information do you need for an accurate quotation?

Outline drawing, duty and bias (or the controller you use), operating voltage, temperature range, viewing direction, connector type, annual quantity and required date. Missing items are the usual reason a quotation comes back as a wide price range.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes, on request and before any drawing is shared. Send us your NDA or ask for ours, and we will return it signed.

How is the display packed and shipped?

Parts are packed in anti-static trays with the batch record, then cartons on pallets. Shipping terms are confirmed with the order — we work with your forwarder or arrange transport from Shenzhen or Shanghai.
