Case study
LCD for a Blood Glucose Meter
A reading the user acts on immediately, on a handheld device where the display shares its power budget with the measurement strip.

The requirement
A glucose meter shows a number the user may act on within seconds. It has to be unambiguous at a glance, readable by older users without glasses, and it runs from a small battery.
What we supplied
- Segment layout with an oversized result field plus unit, date and memory indicators
- Clear icon set for strip insertion, error and low battery states
- Reflective structure with a brief, low-current backlight on demand
- Consistent batch appearance, since the display is part of the product identity
What matters in medical products
Batch-to-batch consistency and traceability. A display that varies in contrast between production lots creates support calls for the device maker, so we fix the structure and hold it.
