The requirement

A handheld training remote has to show mode, intensity and battery state on a display smaller than a thumb, running from a coin cell or a small lithium pack.

What we supplied

  • Compact segment layout with mode, level and battery indicators
  • Reflective structure with a low-current backlight for evening use
  • Wide temperature polarizer for outdoor use and storage in a vehicle
  • Outline and connector matched to the existing handset moulding

Design note

On coin-cell products, the backlight is usually the largest current consumer. Defining how long it may stay on, and at what current, is part of the drawing review — not an afterthought.
