The requirement

A wired controller is part of the interior: it sits on a wall in a home or an office, so the display has to look considered and stay readable from a few metres away in daylight and at night.

What we supplied

  • VA or TN structure selected with the customer for the required viewing angle and appearance
  • Segment layout with a dominant temperature field, mode icons and schedule indication
  • Diffused backlight with an even field, avoiding bright spots behind the icons
  • Outline and button layout matched to the wall plate

Design note

For consumer-facing panels, the backlight diffusion matters as much as the glass: an uneven field is the first thing a buyer notices in a showroom.
